Flood Warning in Effect With Freezing Rain Expected this Weekend

The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) has issued a Flood Warning for the area. Flooding is anticipated to varying degrees as a significant three-day rainfall, freezing rain, snow pellets and snow event moves through the area.

With freezing rain expected this weekend and the potential for power outages and icy conditions, now is a good time to check your emergency preparedness.

Policy and Guidelines

Deadline

  • Applications to the Habitat and Biodiversity streams will be open during the second quarter (April to June) and again during the fourth quarter (October to December) if funds are available and/or are awarded by the review Panel.
  • The review panel will review applications to the Watershed stream in the fourth quarter (October to December) for projects taking place the following year.
  • Preference shall be given to new projects, events or services that have not received funding through the program in the past two (2) years.
  • The project, event, or service shall be completed within one (1) year of the application's approval. If grant recipients propose an alternative timeline, Council approval is required.
